Summer League is in full swing, and we have seen a few players leave a huge mark. If you are heading into rookie drafting season, make sure you know these names…
1) Darryn Peterson already looks like a star. In his first two games, he has made scoring look too easy. We all know his biggest swing skill is his passing, but he just put up 12 assists on only 2 turnovers. With his defensive upside, he can be great. Here are his performances so far: Game 1 (July 4 vs. Atlanta Hawks): 28 points (11-21 FG, 4-7 3Pt), 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks
Game 2 (July 6 vs. Memphis Grizzlies): 25 points (8-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 12 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals

2) Ryan Conwell has quietly been elite. Conwell was the Heats only real pick in the draft, and he has performed like a huge hit. He has shown his elite shooting, and even flashed some solid on-ball creation. They needed shooting, and they may have gotten it. Here’s his performances so far:
July 3 vs. Spurs: 21 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists. He went 4-for-12 from the floor, 3-for-7 from deep, and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
July 5 vs. Lakers: 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists. He struggled slightly with his shot, going 6-for-18 (including 2-for-12 from three) in a 93-91 double-overtime loss.
July 6 vs. Warriors Gold: 26 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists. Conwell was highly efficient, shooting 8-for-14 from the field and 4-for-9 on three-pointers in a 95-85 victory.
3) Cameron Carr continues to look like a heist. Many teams passed on Cameron Carr, and might end up regretting it. He followed up his 19 point performance with 26 points, and continued to show 3-level efficiency. He looks like a well-rounded weapon that the Lakers need following LeBron and Rui’s departures.
