Compose any “if this, then that” college football question — get the historical rate, with every receipt. Of every five-star freshman WR season, how many went in Round 1 of the NFL Draft? Ask it, and see every player-season that answers.
The Rate Sheet
Every rate below is computed from full college player-seasons — one shared scoring currency, matured draft classes only, windows named — and every one opens in the builder so you can inspect each qualifying player-season yourself.
Across the 2018 through 2025 seasons, 106 of 160 qualifying five-star player-seasons ended in an NFL Draft selection — 66 percent. Pedigree questions clamp to 2018, the first season where every class year on the field belongs to a charted recruiting class, and draft outcomes count matured player-seasons only: a player still on campus is never scored as a miss.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2018 through 2025, 35 of 160 qualifying five-star player-seasons ended in a Round-1 selection — 22 percent. Four times as many five-stars hear their name called somewhere in the draft as go in the first round.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2018 through 2025, 38 of 76 such wide receiver player-seasons ended in a draft selection — exactly 50 percent. A thousand-yard season roughly closes the pedigree gap: production buys back what the recruiting services missed.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2018 through 2025, 5 of 7 true-freshman wide receiver player-seasons with 800 or more receiving yards ended in a draft selection — 71 percent, though with only seven matured cases, read it as a strong anecdote rather than a settled rate.
Open this rate in the builder →Across the 2009 through 2025 seasons, 61 of 132 running back player-seasons with 1,500 or more rushing yards finished Top-5 at the position in the shared college scoring currency — 46 percent.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2009 through 2025, 32 of 98 quarterback player-seasons with 4,000 or more passing yards finished Top-5 — 33 percent. Volume alone is not the campus QB crown: rushing production separates the finishers.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2009 through 2025, 133 of 175 matured wide receiver player-seasons with 1,200 or more receiving yards ended in a draft selection — 76 percent.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2009 through 2024, just 8 of 80 Top-5 quarterback player-seasons repeated Top-5 the following campus season — 10 percent. Most leave for the draft; the campus QB throne almost never carries over.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2009 through 2024, 29 of 160 Top-10 running back player-seasons repeated Top-10 the following season — 18 percent. A player who leaves the college game counts as a miss, never silently dropped.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2009 through 2025, 78 of 114 matured tight end player-seasons with 600 or more receiving yards ended in a draft selection — 68 percent. Six hundred yards is a genuinely elite bar at the position.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2020 through 2025 — portal records begin with the 2021 cycle — 233 of 767 quarterback player-seasons with six-plus games and a finish outside the Top-40 entered the portal the very next cycle: 30 percent, nearly one in three.
Open this rate in the builder →From 2020 through 2025 — percentiles are charted from 2020 — 88 of 307 matured player-seasons at or above the 90th efficiency percentile ended in a draft selection: 29 percent. Efficiency alone is a weaker draft signal than raw pedigree or volume.
