Rankings have never been my thing. I don’t really enjoy it, and I’m much more of a tier-based player than straight linear rankings. But I did it. Trying new things and such. Below are some of the players who have risen and fallen after free agency and why.
First, let me tell you my method and thought process behind rankings
Happy to talk through any player on the Dynatyze Discord!
3-5 year window
I look at dynasty in 3-5 year windows. Sure, guys like Jaxson Dart will play for 10 years, maybe more, but so much changes in that time. Contracts are rarely longer than 3 years. Coaches have shorter life spans than they used to. I don’t want to rank someone high based on a probably 10-year career when 4 years from now they may be on a different team or have a new supporting cast. It also goes into vet players like Derrick Henry. He should be start-able for the next 2, maybe 3 years. I’m okay with that. You can still get value out of an older player.
Known over upside
I am by nature a more conservative player. I will always lean towards the known commodity over what could be. Even if that which could be has some history. Someone like Malik Nabers. We have seen greatness from him, but I can’t put him over known assets like JSN, Chase, and Jefferson. I feel the same way about rookie picks. For me its comes down to hurdles a player will have to get over to reach full potential. Depth chart, injury history, scheme, and performance history all play into it. The fewer hurdles and a good history means i’m more willing to trust you and rank you higher.
First QB at 5?? I thought these were Superflex
Yes, these are super flex rankings. And yes, Josh Allen is 5th overall. This comes down to ONE thing for me. Value over replacement. The difference between the top tier of running backs and wide receivers to the 24th best wide receiver is bigger than the gap between the top tier QBs and the baseline guys you are starting in Superflex.
You can get nearly 85-90% of Josh Allen’s point production with a guy further down the list like Jared Goff. You are only going to get about 60-70% of Puka Nacua’ s production from someone similarly ranked down the list, like DJ Moore.
You have to ask yourself, would you rather have Jared Goff and Puka Nacua or Josh Allen and Romeo Doubs? I think everyone is taking the Goff/Nacua side every time.
Free Agency Risers and Fallers
Riser
Tyler Allgeier, RB- Arizona Cardinals
Allgeier jumps from RB38 to R33 and 12 spots in the overall rankings. I had expected Allgeier to land somewhere and be a more integral part of an offense than he was in Atlanta. Now in Arizona, Allgeier has a shot to not only be part of a committee but also be the lead back. Yes, the Cardinals re-signed James Conner, but he is 30 years old coming off a foot injury that cost him most of the 2025 season. Conversely, Trey Benson drops about the same number of spots as he looks to be left for dead as far as dynasty managers are concerned.
Riser
Chris Rodriguez, RB- Jacksonville Jaguars
First, it seemed like Bhayshul Tuten was a clear winner from free agency until the Jags brought in Rodriguez. A former player for head coach Liam Coen at Kentucky for a year. Tuten had very few carries last year, while Rodriguez was a big part of the running game for Washington. The signing moves him up nearly 38 spots on the running back list. He goes from a handcuff to a rotational player. For dynasty, it makes him a possible flex play weekly when he was just a depth piece in need of an injury. I didn't move Tuten down too far, only 2 spots in the positional list. We still need to see what the split will be heading into the season. Also, it wouldn't shock me to see the Jags draft a guy later in the draft to be part of the rotation as well.
Honorable Mentions
Rachaad White , RB- Washington Commanders: Up 8 spots
David Montgomery , RB- Houston Texans: Up 9 spots
Woody Marks , RB- Houston Texans: Down 5 spots
Isiah Pacheco , RB- Detroit Lions: Down 6 spots

Alec Pierce- WR, Indianapolis Colts
Pierce jumps 25 spots from WR51 to WR25. While I expected him to sign somewhere, especially to be the lead receiver, I was shocked to see him stay in Indy. I was even more shocked to see them trade away Michael Pittman. That opens a ton of snaps and targets for Pierce. Part of my initial hesitation with Peirce was a team and system change, but staying with the Colts gives him the continuity that should allow him to shine.
Riser
Romeo Doubs- WR, New England Patriots
Doubs goes from an underrated receiver on a crowded Packers team to being the main guy on the Patriots. I have always been a fan of Doubs, who now takes over the role Stefon Diggs had. Diggs finished as WR17 last year, and I have Doubs now as WR24. 20 spots higher than he was before free agency. It's a massive win for a guy only 25 years old. Dynasty managers who have him are rejoicing. Acquiring him now will cost more, but still less than what he should cost.
Honorable Mentions
Emeka Egbuka , WR Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Up 12 spots
Luther Burden , WR, Chicago Bears: up 12 spots
Faller
David Njoku, TE Free Agent
I'm really surprised David Njoku still hasn't signed. The potential landing spots keep vanishing. The Atlanta Falcons franchise tagged Kyle Pitts. Philly brought back Dallas Goedert, Isaiah Likely to the Giants, and Chig Okonkwo to the Commanders. With hardly any solid landing spots left its hard to imagine Njoku will rise much, even if he does sign. He already dropped 25 spots. Even if he does sign, he would probably only rise up half as many spots. Its a shame to see a former fantasy darling be left to the waste side so quickly.
Honorable Mention
Chig Okonkwo , TE Washington Commanders: Up 3 spots
Isaiah Likely , TE New York Giants: up 5 spots

Malik Willis, QB, Miami Dolphins
Willis jumps up my rankings, but not as high as you might think. Before this, I had him as QB33. He now sits as QB28. I still have a ton of questions about Willis as a starting option for fantasy. I know people are in love with his rushing upside, but if he turns the ball over too much, he won’t last as a starter. Still not someone I really want on my teams unless it's depth in 2 QB leagues.
