Quarterback
Bryce Young - Carolina Panthers $5-$10 FAAB
For the last month, I’ve been telling you that Bryce Young is different this year. Since Week 9 last season, Bryce Young has averaged 21.6 fantasy points per game. He’s currently second in the league in passing yards, behind the other guy I’ve been telling you about, Tyler Shough. This week, the Panthers travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns. After scoring over 30 points each of the first two weeks, I expect Bryce Young to keep impressing fantasy managers.
Honorable Mentions
Tyler Shough is owned in about 50% of ESPN and Sleeper leagues; if he’s still out there, adding the league’s passing leader is never a bad idea. Drew Lock has taken over for Sam Darnold and has been impressive. Throwing to Jaxon Smith-Njigba makes Lock a great option in 2 QB leagues. Kirk Cousins has led the Las Vegas Raiders to a 2-0 start and scored over 20 points in each of the first two weeks of the season.
Running Backs
Emmanuel Wilson - Seattle Seahawks $10-$15 FAAB
If you need a long-term solution, Wilson won’t fix your problem. Emmanuel Wilson saw 21 carries after Jadarian Price left the game Sunday. He ran for 92 yards and saw 1 target. If Jadarian Price spends any amount of time on the injury report, Wilson should be rostered and considered a flex option. If later this week Jadarian Price is expected to play, Wilson’s FAAB price should drop from $10-$15 to $2-$5.
Jonah Coleman - Denver Broncos $10-$15 FAAB
Last week Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins left early, and second year back R.J. Harvey didn’t play leaving Jonah Coleman as the primary back in Denver. Coleman totalled 58 yards on 13 touches and scored a touchdown. If the Broncos are without Dobbins and Harvey for an extended period of time, Coleman could develop into a long term RB2/flex option.
Honorable Mention
Tank Bigsby may be worth looking at if you own Saquon Barkley, but last week he only received 34% of snaps, while Will Shipley saw over 50% of snaps. If Saquon misses Week 3, this looks to be a split, with Bigsby the more probably of the two to score. Emmett Johnson remained efficient in his opportunities this week. If you’re playing in a PPR league, Alvin Kamara is worth an add. Kamara saw 5 receptions this week and totaled 22 yards. If Kamara is ramping up into what will be his full workload, he could see 8-12 points per game.
Wide Receiver
Dontayvion Wicks - Philadelphia Eagles $5-$10 FAAB
In Week 2, Dontayvion Wicks saw more targets and more yards than Week 1. Wicks seems to be carving out a real role as the Eagles WR2. Wicks currenly ranks as WR15 in fantasy scoring over 12 points in each of the first two games of the season. This week as the Eagles take on the Chicago Bears, Wicks should continue to see this type of production.
Denzel Boston - Cleveland Browns $5-$10 FAAB
I hate telling you to add a member of the Cleveland Browns. But Boston has been the WR11 through the first two weeks of the season. He’s been targeted eleven times in the first two games, and caught seven passes. As long as Deshawn Watson remains the starter for the Browns, Boston should be startable? Still feels gross…
Joshua Palmer - Buffalo Bills $0-$5
You may be scratching your head at this one, but Joshua Palmer is starting to look like the new Gabe Davis. During the first two weeks of the season Palmer has been looking like the deep threat in the Bills offense. If you’re the type of manager looking for a boom/bust start at flex, Palmer could provide that boom option with the way Josh Allen has been playing.
Honorable Mention
Tre Tucker has been called a “must add” after his 119 yard performance against the Chargers, but with Bowers expected to return this week, Tucker may not see the same usage he did in Week 2. Adonai Mitchell saw 12 targets this week, and if that continues he’s worth adding based on his usage alone. If Zay Flowers misses any more time, Rashod Bateman is worth a bench spot, or a pinch start if necessary.
Tight End
Oronde Gadsden - Los Angeles Chargers $5-$10 FAAB
The Chargers are dealing with injuries to tight ends David Njoku and Charlie Kolar. Last year Oronde Gadsden showed signs of promise in the middle of the season averaging nearly 18 points in a 4 game stretch where he averaged almost 7 targets per game. The Chargers have a tough stretch of games coming up, which should lead to more passing game scripts. If the Chargers can get their issues figured out, and Gadsden sees more than 5 targets per game in this upcoming stretch, he could has the potential to be a top 6 TE during that stretch.
Dalton Schultz - Houston Texans $5-$10 FAAB
Dalton Schultz had himself a day on Sunday. Schultz had 12 receptions for 140 yards against the Cincinatti Bengals. As long as Nico Collins remains sidelined, I would expect Schultz to receive 7-10 targets per game. At 6’5” Schultz is a big target in the red zone, and should recieve enough targets to earn a start in the weeks to come.
Honorable Mentions
As long as Puka Nacua is off the field, Rams TE’s should see an increase in their usage. Good luck picking the right one. Juwan Johnson is a great streaming option along with Darren Waller.
