1. Kevin Porter Jr.
Since returning from injury, Kevin Porter Jr. is on a generational run. He is now shooting 59.5% from 3, and is averaging over 20ppg. But another side to this story is his play style efficiency. He is currently the most efficient spot up shooter in history, on ridiculous volume. And I mean truly ridiculous, currently averaging 13.2 spot up plays per 75 possessions. He is also in the 97th percentile of isolation efficiency, and 92nd as the P&R handler. It will be awesome to see a Porter Jr. x Giannis pick and role play, considering Giannis Antetokounmpo is the most efficient role man in the league. Can Kevin Porter Jr. keep up this level of efficiency?
2. The Heat’s New Offense
After years of consistent play under the leadership of Erik Spoelstra, something changed this season. The Heat are currently running the fastest paced offense in the NBA, and their player’s are taking advantage of it. They currently have two players in the top 6 of isolation efficiency by points per play generated (filtered by volume, Norman Powell and Davion Mitchell), as well as a top 8 transition player (Kal’el Ware). The Heat have had some success this season, and their players have been fantastic fantasy assets across the board.
3. Neemias Queta Production Explosion
Celtics center Neemias Queta is having a career year in every regard. Per 75 possessions, he is producing better numbers in every major statistic, and is currently top 10 in Net Rating (!). He has been particularly efficient in Pick and Rolls, and even in transition. After moving on from Kristaps Porzingis, the Celtics seem to have found themselves a very solid center who can rebound, play defense, set screens, and score when necessary. Great player, better season.
