Week 4 Recap
Our first 3-0 week. It was nice to see. With how crazy the NFL has been going 3-0 is great. The Trap game of the Giants over the Cardinals worked out for the Giants but it was closer then what people expected.
Week 4 also confirmed some of my rules. We had 3 divisional games. The Bills lost to the Patriots and the other 2 were 3 point wins.
Going forward things get more complicated. We are now in bye weeks. so we will have less games. We are also in the meat of the season where we see more divisional games.
We might have to make some exceptions to the rules going forward. As a reminder the rules are 1- No divisional games
2- Travel Kills. We want home games
3- Keep track of the Vegas odds
4- Avoid sparks (new coach, QB)
Week 5 Picks
Lock
Cowboys over Buccaneers
I usually don’t pick Thursday night games. Not a rule, but the short week is tough on both teams. Its why we generally see less then thrilling games.
But this week we have a loaded offense in the Dallas Cowboys facing a undrafted rookie quarterback, Jalon Daniels , who looked every part of it against the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys just went nuclear, especially wide receiver CeeDee Lamb , who had17 receptions for 189 yards and a touchdown. The Buccaneers have been torched by Tee Higgins (Cin), Denzel Boston (Cle), and Jordan Addison (Min). I expect either Lamb or George Pickens to have a massive game.
You will have to get this pick in early since it does happen Thursday night. This may be the most chalk pick of the week, but you can’t go out on too far of a limb. Cowboys are a 9.5-point favorite so clearly Vegas sees this as a pretty easy win for them.
