Start: C.J. Stroud (HOU) vs. DAL
C.J. Stroud is QB20 through three weeks of the 2026 season. He’s averaging 15 fantasy points per game, but he gets a nice matchup this week facing the Dallas Cowboys defense. The Cowboys defense has allowed seven passing touchdowns through three games and has allowed Jaxson Dart , Jayden Daniels/Marcus Mariota (combined due to a mid-game injury), and Lamar Jackson to score over 20 fantasy points. This is a defense that you want to target for fantasy production.
The Texans have the seventh-highest team implied total this week at 25.25 and will need to pass to keep up with the explosive Dallas offense, which is averaging 29.3 points per game (7th) so far. Fortunately, the Texans are expected to get their alpha wide receiver, Nico Collins, back from a hamstring injury, which should help this passing attack.
Stroud is the consensus QB16 this week, but if this leaky Dallas secondary keeps getting abused by the pass, he could sneak into the top 12. The Houston run game has struggled to be efficient, and while we may never see rookie-year C.J. Stroud ever again, he has looked better this year. Through three weeks, his average depth of target (10.8), big-time throw rate (3.8), and turnover-worthy play rate (1.4) have all improved compared to last year’s numbers. This means that he’s pushing the ball downfield more consistently with fewer mistakes. Don’t be surprised if this is the week where we see him throw for three-plus touchdowns.
