BOAT Buys: 4 QBs I'm Targeting in Dynasty Leagues

Looking to buy a quarterback in dynasty? These are four QBs I believe can outperform their current value and rise in 2026.

BOAT Buys: 4 QBs I'm Targeting in Dynasty Leagues

Finding value at quarterback isn't always about buying the top names.

Sometimes it's identifying players before they take the next step. Other times it's taking advantage of dynasty managers overreacting to a down season, a coaching change, or a roster move.

These are four quarterbacks I'm actively trying to acquire in dynasty leagues right now.

Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans

Current Cost: Early 1st

Cam Ward is the type of dynasty buy I love to target.

The box score from his rookie season doesn't jump off the page. He finished with 3,169 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and added two rushing scores. For many dynasty managers, that was enough to cool their enthusiasm.

I'm viewing it differently.

The Titans have completely changed the environment around Ward entering Year 2. Tennessee brought in Brian Daboll to lead the offense, signed Wan'Dale Robinson, and added Carnell Tate with premium draft capital. That's a significant upgrade to both the coaching staff and supporting cast.

Ward also showed encouraging growth throughout his rookie season. The arm talent that made him the No. 1 overall pick remains obvious. He can attack every level of the field, throws with confidence, and possesses enough mobility to add fantasy value with his legs.

Most second-year breakouts happen when talent finally meets stability. Ward now has a better offensive ecosystem, more weapons, and an experienced quarterback developer helping guide his growth.

If he takes the expected Year 2 leap, his current cost could look cheap very quickly.

Cam Ward for a 2028 1st + Antonio Williams

Cam Ward + 2027 3rd for the 1.03

Cam Ward for C.J. Stroud + 2028 3rd

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

Current Cost: Early 1st

At some point, dynasty managers are going to have to stop pretending Brock Purdy isn't good.

Every year he produces.

Every year he's discounted.

Purdy has already demonstrated QB1 upside, finishing as a top-six fantasy quarterback during his first full season as a starter. Even during an injury-riddled 2025 season, he remained productive when healthy and finished the year playing some of his best football.

What makes Purdy appealing is the combination of floor and value.

He's locked into a long-term contract, plays for one of the NFL's best offensive minds, and consistently outperforms his dynasty ranking. Yet he's still valued closer to a mid-range QB2 than a true franchise quarterback.

The "system quarterback" label continues to suppress his market value despite years of evidence suggesting otherwise.

When I can acquire a quarterback with proven QB1 production at a QB2 price, I'm buying.

Brock Purdy for Sam Darnold, Jacoby Brissett, Deebo Samuel, and James Conner

Brock Purdy + Josh Jacobs for Ladd McConkey + Bryce Young

Brock Purdy for Makai Lemon + Oronde Gadsden

Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings

Current Cost: Mid 1st

Few quarterbacks have seen their dynasty value swing more dramatically than Kyler Murray.

Murray enters 2026 with a fresh start in Minnesota, arguably the best situation he's played in since entering the league. Kevin O’Connell has consistently elevated quarterback play, and while J.J. McCarthy hasn’t quite taken that step, Murray now enters the same system with arguably the league’s best receiving duo in Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Most importantly, the rushing upside hasn't disappeared.

Quarterbacks who can realistically approach 500-plus rushing yards still possess league-winning fantasy ceilings. Murray has already shown that type of production throughout his career.

At only 28 years old, there's still plenty of runway remaining if he successfully rebuilds his value in Minnesota.

I'm betting on a rebound.

Kyler Murray for a 2027 2nd + Jacoby Brissett

Kyler Murray for a 2027 2nd + 2027 4th

Kyler Murray + Jaylen Waddle for Makai Lemon, Mike Evans, and a 2028 3rd

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Current Cost: Two Random 1sts

It's rare to find a legitimate elite fantasy quarterback available at any sort of discount.

The dynasty community appears nervous following Philadelphia's decision to move on from A.J. Brown. Anytime a quarterback loses an elite receiver, concerns are understandable.

I believe the market has overreacted on this one.

Hurts remains in his prime and still possesses one of the highest fantasy ceilings in football. The rushing production alone provides a weekly floor that very few quarterbacks can match.

Philadelphia has also worked aggressively to reshape the receiving room. DeVonta Smith remains in place, while the organization added multiple new weapons to help replace Brown's production.

Add in a new offensive coordinator and an offense expected to evolve, and there are multiple paths for Hurts to maintain elite fantasy production.

Elite quarterbacks rarely get a discount.

Jalen Hurts for a 2027 1st + Bryce Young

Jalen Hurts + George Pickens + 2027 2nd for Justin Herbert + Ladd McConkey

Final Thoughts

I love buying talent before the market catches up.

Cam Ward offers the Year 2 breakout profile.

Brock Purdy continues to be one of dynasty's most consistently undervalued quarterbacks.

Kyler Murray has a fresh start and the rushing upside to dramatically increase his value.

Jalen Hurts is an elite fantasy asset whose market has softened due to concerns that may already be baked into his price.

If I'm looking to acquire quarterbacks before the season starts, these are the four names I'm targeting first.
