The Dynatyze MLB trade calculator is a fantasy baseball trade analyzer for dynasty, keeper and redraft leagues: it adds up each side's value on the 0-9999 scale, major leaguers, prospects, draft picks and FAAB dollars alike, and grades the gap from A to F. It trades on the same dynasty values the MLB dynasty rankings publish.
Two modes, named plainly. Dynasty mode prices every asset on its long-term value, prospects included. Redraft mode prices this season only, so a prospect who is not in the majors carries little redraft value. Keeper mode sits between the two.
Scoring settings include Roto 5x5, OBP, head-to-head categories, head-to-head points and Ottoneu.
Draft picks are priced on a slot-expectation curve seeded from market values, prospects on their future value, arrival year and risk, and FAAB dollars as a share of the league's budget.
Add players, prospects, draft picks or FAAB dollars to each side. The analyzer prices every asset on the 0-9999 scale the MLB board publishes, adds up each side and grades the gap from A to F. For a mixed package it also splits each side into win-now value (major leaguers and FAAB) and futures value (prospects and picks), so you can see what kind of value is changing hands.
Dynasty mode prices every asset on its long-term value, so a top prospect who has not reached the majors can be worth as much as an established regular. Redraft mode prices this season only, so the same prospect carries little value and a productive veteran carries more. Keeper mode sits between the two. Pick the mode that matches your league before you grade.
Roto 5x5, OBP leagues, head-to-head categories, head-to-head points and Ottoneu. The scoring choice changes how hitters and pitchers are weighed, so a player whose value comes from batting average is priced differently in an OBP league.
Prospects are priced on their future value, the year they are expected to arrive in the majors and the risk that they do not. A prospect close to the majors with a high ceiling is worth more than a teenager years away, even when their ceilings look alike.
Draft picks are priced on a slot-expectation curve seeded from market values, so an early pick is worth what the players usually taken there are worth. FAAB dollars are priced as a share of your league's budget, so ten dollars of a one-hundred-dollar budget counts the same as fifty dollars of a five-hundred-dollar one.
From the MLB dynasty board Dynatyze publishes. The table on this page prints the top of it with the date it was last updated, and the analyzer trades on those same numbers, so a value you read here is the value a trade is graded on.
The grade measures how even the trade is, not who wins it. A+ means the two sides are within 3% of each other, A within 7%, B+ within 12%, B within 18%, C+ within 25%, C within 35% and D within 50%; anything wider is an F. The recommendation beside the grade names the side that comes out ahead. When a piece in the trade has no price, the analyzer withholds the grade rather than guess.
Two readouts that a single number can hide. A hitter and pitcher split shows how much of each side's value is bats and how much is arms, because in a category league swapping a hitter for a pitcher of equal value still reshapes a roster. And when prospects and picks make up at least 35% of a side's value, an arrival readout names how many years away they are and how many carry high risk, so a fair-looking trade cannot hide a long wait.
Yes. Switch to three-team mode and route each asset to the team receiving it. The mode and every asset are kept in the page address, so a shared link opens the same trade.
Yes. Grading a trade is free and needs no account. The free tier prices the top 75 players of the board; Pro prices the top 300 and Ultra the whole board.
The calculator does not forecast how a trade will turn out. It measures a trade against today's market price on the values printed on this page, on the day they were updated. Dynatyze does not publish an accuracy percentage for trade grades.
