The Scout’s Notebook
The MLB Prop Lab lines up every MLB player prop the books post — the main line, every alternate line and every book's price — and sets his own history at that line beside each one, so you can see how often he has cleared it this season before you take a price.
His history is his record, counted from his own box scores — not a projection. A game he did not bat in (or pitch in, for a pitcher's prop) is left out, never counted as a zero, and under four decided games no rate is shown at all. Under each game in his log sits his plate appearances (batters faced for a pitcher), so a two-trip night reads differently from a five-trip one.
No MLB prop is called. A call needs a record of those calls that beats the closing line, and no MLB prop call has one yet, so the board leads with the market and never lights a verdict.
No. It is the share of his decided games this season that went over the line, read straight off his box scores. It says what he has done, not what he will do, and it is never called a bet.
A call is shown only when a record of those calls beats the closing line. No MLB prop call has that record yet, so the board shows the market and his history and makes no call.
