Tonight's NBA slate plotted by tickets vs money — where the sharp side disagrees with the public, at a glance.
The Scout’s Notebook
A sharp money map plots every game on the slate by the share of bets a side is taking against the share of money on that side, so the games where a few large wagers disagree with the crowd stand apart from the games where money and tickets agree.
Marks are ringed when the consensus line ALSO moved against the ticket majority, which is the reverse-line-movement case: the crowd is on one side and the number is drifting the other way. The ranked ledger beneath the map lists the same games by how far off the diagonal they sit, so the read is a number you can sort, not a shape you have to eyeball.
The splits are VSiN snapshots and every one carries its source and its age on screen; a snapshot older than six hours is flagged rather than quietly shown as current. Line movement is the median of stored per-book pregame snapshots with the contributing book count printed per row, and a game with no line feed shows an em-dash and says so. Nothing on this board is interpolated.
It means the two sides are being bet in different sizes. If a side is taking 30% of the bets but 70% of the money, the wagers on it average more than five times the wagers against it — a pattern usually left by a small number of high-limit bettors rather than by the public.
No. A divergence tells you who is on a side, not whether the price is still there — by the time a move is visible the number has often already been taken. Use the map to confirm or challenge a lean you already hold, and check the price you can actually get before acting on it.
Each split carries the timestamp of the VSiN snapshot it came from, shown on the board itself. Past six hours the age chip turns amber so a stale split can never read as a live one, and games with no split at all are left blank rather than filled in.
