Low holds
Take the Over at one book and the Under half a point higher at another. You lose a small, known amount most of the time, and win big when the result lands on the whole number.
We pair an Over with an Under half a point higher at a different book, on the same game total, spread or player prop.
Each pair shows what it costs per $1,000 when the result misses the number. The best pairs cost one or two percent; the median pair we logged from Jul 31 to Oct 28, 2026 cost $58.15 per $1,000.
If the result lands exactly on the whole number between the lines, one side wins and the other is refunded. That landing is the only way the pair pays, so it is worth holding only when the cost is small and the number is common.
You pay about 1.9% to hold a ticket on one exact number, and our ledger rated this one a small loser: -$9.16 per $1,000 once the chance of 239 is counted. A cheap pair is not automatically a good one. It lasted 5 minutes and 30 seconds.

Read the arbitrage guideOn our board it is an Over and an Under half a point apart at two books. Together they cost a small amount to hold, and they pay well if the result lands on the whole number between them.
Close, but no result wins both bets. On the number one side wins and the other pushes. A middle has a full number or more between the lines, so both bets can win.
Some numbers come up often, like 3 and 7 on NFL spreads. If the number lands more often than the cost implies, the pair has value over many bets. It still loses most nights.
